PHATMAGS consist of our PHATPADS in an all-new Magura-fit backing, resulting in braking performance that’s nothing short of excellent.

The slimlined 6mm backings reduce weight (each backing and O-ring weigh only 6.3g!) and also allow for wide-trials rims to easily be used.

Solid backing plate massively increases stiffness and power by reducing material flex in the backings when compared to backings with holes in the rear.

Hand-finished and polished then anodised black or silver (or GOLD if you’re a winner!) for a superb long-lasting finish.

Exact tolerances mean the material and backings provide a fit that is easy to install and replace without glue, but won’t come out whilst riding!

Note: PHATPADS work at their best when installed with a fresh, rough grind, and must be set up squarely to the rim for the best performance. However braking power continues to be excellent as the pads and grind wear down! Do give the pads time to wear to the rim (they’ll lose the glossy surface texture when fully bedded in)

As part as our fondness for open-source information, PHATWORKS brake pads use the original Magura pad fitting size, and may fit other manufacturers backings. Please contact us for advice if you wish to use backings other than our own.

Because our pads are engineered to such high tolerances, glue is not required for fitting or replacing your PHATPADS in our PHATMAG or PHATVEE backings. This does mean you need to be careful when installing or removing wheels as this may prise the material from the backings.
