The author of this book, Pere Pi Parera born in Lliçà d `Amunt, Vallès Oriental, in 1940. Businessman and former Spaniard motorcycling activity that feature during the 50s and 60s getting 6 motocross championships in Spain, one for speed and one trial (making it the only state champion three disciplines at once) , plus 14 Catalan Championships in all modes.

He started working at Derby in 1954 as an errand boy in Josep Rabasa and soon debuted in driving motorcycles participating in gymkhana competitions, speed, endurance, motocross and rally.

In 1960 he was hired by Montesa, where he remained 25 years, during which he served as a test driver and engineer. As head of the department of D.I.D. (Research and Development Department) was the creator of the historical models of motocross 8The Cappra Montesa) Trial (The Cota) and enduro (The Enduro). In the late 70s was the creator of Trialsín, which was subsequently called Bike Trial.

With the closing of Montesa, a new stage and Monty Bicycles founded in 1983. Extensive experience as technical designer motorcycle was the basis for the birth of this prestigious brand.
